Strategy Development Lead
Janev has been involved in education for over 20 years and has extensive knowledge of school leadership and has worked in schools as a teacher, trainer and senior leader. More recently, Janev has played a vital role in school improvement within Local Authorities on both primary and secondary based strategies. Janev has gained significant experience as a strategy development lead through coaching, carrying out school improvement projects and inspection programmes both locally and internationally. As our appointed strategy development lead, Janev will carry out regular inspections to secure the best outcomes for students at IWS. She will use a variety of proven strategies to ensure that all teams are supported and are able to formulate what they need to do to sustain improvement, which goes inline with our growth mindset.
Ali has extensive experience in the education sector across early years, primary and secondary phases. He has worked on a number of high profile projects and is consistently able to meet tight deadlines. He has worked at several senior leadership positions in international schools as well as principal and completed his NPQSL training. Ali has also been entitled as a CIS evaluator, working across the maintained and independent sector. Previously, as Director of School Improvement for a multi-academy trust, he played a key role in the development of school improvement documentation, developing consistency in high-quality practice and working with leadership teams of schools in challenging circumstances. Most recently he held a senior executive position in a multi-academy trust, overseeing policy development and quality improvement.
Director of Education
Alexandra will be responsible for the day to day running of the outstanding academic programmes at IWS, ensuring that the curriculum is progressive and in line with the Cambridge Assessment International Education standards. Alexandra has obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a masters degree in education. Her vast experience of teaching students across the globe makes her a great asset to our innovative and extensive teaching programme. Alexandra combines her skills and acquired experience to ensure that all of our curriculum and teaching programmes offer students access to high quality education that fosters the development of students as a whole. Alexandra’s wealth of experience and passion for teaching will enable her to continuously preserve the high standards of quality education to that of Cambridge International.
Head of Senior School and SENCO
Victoria is the appointed head of senior school at IWS, she plays a pivotal role in keeping both teachers and students equipped with the necessary skills required to become successful and well-rounded individuals. Victoria has acquired a Masters in Inclusive Education and SEN and a registered member of the British Psychological Society as a Psychometric Educational Tester and Exam Access Arrangements Assessor. Victoria possesses a student centred approach, always ensuring that there are no barriers in learning and that students are guided to become the best version of themselves as well as establishing academic success.
Head of 6th Form
In order to support academic excellence Ersin oversees the pastoral and academic wellbeing needs of students who are studying their A levels at IWS. Ersin has gained substantial experience in teaching, mentoring and guiding students to fulfil their potential. He completed his PGCE in Business from Middlesex University and became a fully qualified teacher. Carefully guiding students who need the extra support, Ersin is committed to the overall well-being of all students and has the skills and experience to empower our Sixth Form students just before the next important chapter in their life. Ersin also takes lead responsibility and accountability for the delivery of our school’s programme of careers advice and guidance.
Success Coach and Assistant SENCo
Having obtained a first class degree in Physics, Mrs. Sarah Cihan has continued her academic development by completing a Masters in Physics at the University of Bucharest. Complimenting her academic success, she has significant experience in mentoring and coaching students. Sarah is an aspiring teacher and a great asset to our SENCo team. Her dedication and continued motivation to help students makes her a brilliant success coach. Sarah has effective people skills and has guided many students with integrity, empathy and confidentiality. Sharing the core values and ethos of IWS, Sarah’s passion for helping students makes her a profound success coach and assistant SENDCo.
Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher
Oktay has 22 years of experience teaching Math at all levels, ranging from middle school to university. He has been teaching IB Math, AP Math, A Level Math and Statistics curricula. He has worked as math teacher, head of mathematic department, academic coordinator and deputy principal of several international institutions. He has extensive experience with tutoring online where he has tutored students from Europe, USA, and the Middle East.
Oktay’s teaching style is slow and methodical, focusing on building solid foundational concepts and problem-solving skills. He always gives feedback and motivates his students for all their upcoming examinations.
